After spending 2 days in Los Angeles, we made the long drive to San Francisco. For the most part when I travel, I like to try unique activities along with the “must do tourist attractions.” However, for this trip my mom and I found ourselves getting excited by a lot of the touristy things to do in San Francisco. Because we only had two days to spend there, we decided it was totally okay to spend our time indulging in all the “must do things in San Francisco”. Depending on what day it is, Outrigger Reef Waikiki Beach Resort has lei making, hula lessons, ukulele lessons, and more. Luckily for us, we had enough time to check out the lei making event. There, we got to learn not only how to make lei with real, traditional flowers, but we got to learn about their importance and how they are used in Hawaiian culture.

Napali (or Na Pali), which literally translates to “The Cliffs,” are sea cliffs which stretch for 11 miles down the coastline of Kauai, Hawaii, USA and at points rise as high as 4,000 feet above sea level. They’re also well known for their several sea caves, which means that boat tours are a great way to experience all the cliffs have to offer. My mom and I chose to do our Napali coast boat tour with the Na Pali Experience and had an absolutely blast! Out of our 10-day Hawaii itinerary, touring the Napali coast with the Na Pali Experience Boat Tour group was definitely the highlight of our trip.

Nikko, Japan isn’t quite as popular as some of the other bigger cities in Japan, but don’t let that dissuade you. Nikko is full of rich Japanese culture, and you’ll find that it’s much less crowded and not as touristy as some of the other big cities, making it the perfect place to get a first hand encounter with Japanese culture.
